How much does the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV cost?

Is the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows a full-size luxury SUV built around space, presence, and premium features, with a huge cabin, three rows of seating, and plenty of cargo room. It also emphasizes comfort and capability, with features like heated front and second-row seats, a power third row, a rear-seat entertainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a large luxury SUV that can carry people and luggage without losing its upscale feel. 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a vehicle that delivers premium comfort, strong capability, and a well-equipped cabin, but it also notes that fuel economy is poor and the technology can feel outdated on older versions. That means your ownership experience is likely to depend heavily on how well the specific vehicle has been maintained and how much you value its luxury and space over efficiency and modern tech polish. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a high-cost SUV whose upkeep and operating expenses outweigh the benefits if condition is not carefully verified.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on the body, interior electronics, and any signs of uneven wear that could point to past damage or deferred maintenance. Because this is a large luxury SUV, condition matters a lot: focus on how well the cabin, features, and mechanical systems have been preserved rather than just the odometer reading.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 556 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,243, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV's resale value?

The current average of $22,243 sits slightly below last year's $24,817.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of further depreciation. For a future seller, the key is to preserve the SUV’s premium appeal through careful maintenance and clean history documentation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a large luxury SUV with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price than it had a year ago. If your priority is finding the lowest entry price, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2017 remains the better all-around target if you want a balance of value, inventory, and buyer appeal.
