Used 2016 RAM 2500 for Sale nearOmaha, NE

How much does the 2016 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 6.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,857 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance and towing capability, and many also value the comfort and reliability for everyday driving. That makes it a strong fit if you want a heavy-duty truck that can work hard without feeling purely utilitarian. With 30.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights comfort and reliability, and it also describes the truck as dependable for everyday driving. At the same time, some owners mention concerns about the 68RFE 6-speed automatic transmission, especially in higher-mileage trucks without service history. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you focus on maintenance records and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 RAM 2500?

At 65.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who knows heavy-duty trucks. Focus on service records, transmission behavior, and signs of hard use, especially if the truck has higher mileage. Condition matters more than mileage alone when you are shopping a truck built for towing and hauling.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,857 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,520, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $27,678 sits slightly below last year's $29,623.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, especially on a heavy-duty truck where buyers pay close attention to wear. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still support value better than average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,561, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $27,678 average.
• It adds a broader family-hauler focus with more livable day-to-day appeal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2016 if you want a stronger value play and are willing to inspect carefully for condition and history. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling alternative, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
