Is the 2016 Nissan Titan a good car?

With a user rating of 3.25/5, the 2016 Nissan Titan looks like a mixed but appealing choice if you want a full-size truck with a standard V8 and a more upscale feel than many rivals. It was aimed at shoppers cross-shopping trucks like the Toyota Tundra and Chevy Silverado 1500, and its strengths center on everyday usability, useful equipment, off-road ability, and a comfortable interior.

You also get features such as Bluetooth phone connectivity, air conditioning, back-up cameras, the UtiliTrack-channel system, and in-bed cargo boxes, which help it feel practical rather than bare-bones. At the same time, its limited configurability and less polished ride keep it from being an easy universal recommendation.

With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 Nissan Titan reliable?

The 2016 Nissan Titan has a reputation for reliability, which supports its appeal as a used truck. That matters because reliability is one of the main reasons you might choose it over a more common full-size pickup.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk looks manageable if you focus on maintenance history and overall condition, since a truck’s value depends heavily on how it was used and cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Nissan Titan?

At 65.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you get serious about any listing, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Focus on signs of hard use, uneven wear, and any evidence that the truck’s comfort and utility features still work as intended.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Titan?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 777 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.47% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,269, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Titan's resale value?

The current average of $20,269 sits slightly below last year's $22,145.

That softer pricing suggests the Titan has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now and keep the truck in strong condition, you can help protect your resale position later. The biggest factor will be how cleanly the truck ages relative to similar listings in the market.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.47% compared with last year.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $19,283, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $20,269 average.
• It brings a redesigned Titan with stronger overall truck credibility.

The bottom line: If you want the current-year Titan and find a clean, well-priced example, the 2016 can make sense. If price is your main priority, the 2017 is the better value path because it costs less while offering a more refined redesign.
