Is the 2016 Nissan Titan a good car?

With a user rating of 3.25/5, the 2016 Nissan Titan looks like a mixed but appealing choice if you value a full-size truck with a strong V8, an upscale feel, and useful everyday equipment. The Titan’s strengths are especially tied to its standard powertrain, comfortable cabin, off-road ability, and features like Bluetooth phone connectivity, air conditioning, back-up cameras, UtiliTrack-channel storage, and in-bed cargo boxes. It also makes sense if you want a truck that feels broader in purpose than a basic work rig, even though configurability is limited and the ride and interior materials are less impressive than some rivals.

33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Nissan Titan reliable?

The 2016 Nissan Titan has a reputation for reliability, and that helps support its case as a used full-size truck. Its appeal is strongest if you want a straightforward, capable pickup with a strong standard V8 and a cabin that aims a little higher than the basics. Even so, you should still judge each truck on its own condition, because long-term ownership risk rises quickly when maintenance history is unclear or prior use has been hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Nissan Titan?

At 65% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on the body, frame, suspension, and cabin condition, since those areas can reveal how the truck was used and whether it was maintained carefully. Focus on overall condition rather than just mileage, because a well-kept Titan is likely to be a better buy than a cheaper one with hidden issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Titan?

This looks like a moderate buyer's market, so you can be selective without waiting forever for the perfect listing.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 751 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.39% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,539, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Titan's resale value?

The current average of $20,544 sits slightly below last year's $22,183.

That price movement suggests the Titan has softened enough to help you buy in at a more favorable level than a year ago. If you plan to resell later, the current market gives you a clearer baseline, but the softer trend also means future resale gains may be limited unless you buy well and keep the truck in excellent condition. For a future seller, the best protection is a clean history, strong maintenance records, and a truck that still presents well.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.39% compared with last year.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $19,381, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $20,544 average.
• It feels more like a serious, redesigned full-size truck with stronger everyday appeal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the current-year market, a decent deal pool, and a truck with a strong V8 and useful features. If your priority is lower pricing, the 2017 is the better value path, especially if you want to compare a newer redesign against the 2016’s softer market.
