What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

At 62.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and any expensive systems that could affect ownership costs. A careful test drive and a close look at maintenance records can help you separate a well-kept example from one that may become costly later.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $16,053 sits slightly below last year's $17,855.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you choose a clean, well-maintained example, you may be better positioned to limit further value loss. Strong demand for a luxury SUV with a high owner satisfaction score can also help support resale interest over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a luxury SUV with broad appeal, a high owner satisfaction score, and a market that has become more buyer-friendly. If your priority is maximizing value, this year deserves a close look, especially when you find a clean example priced near the low end of the range. If you are especially price-sensitive, compare it against nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price.
