Should I buy a 2016 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,232, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,494 average.
• It emphasizes distinctive styling and practical efficiency.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price stability, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your main goal is to spend less up front, the 2015 is the better value-oriented alternative, especially if you find one in clean condition.
