Is the 2016 Lexus NX reliable?

The user feedback specifically highlights reliability, and it also describes the NX as comfortable and efficient, which usually matters when you want a used luxury crossover you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Lexus NX?

At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any listing that looks especially clean or unusually cheap. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and mechanical condition match the seller’s description. Because the market includes a sizable number of accident-affected vehicles, the best examples are the ones with clear records and consistent maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 630 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,854, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $18,401 sits slightly below last year's $18,713.

That softer pricing suggests the NX has become a bit more buyer-friendly in the near term, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the model’s steady owner satisfaction and reputation for comfort and efficiency should help it remain appealing to future buyers. Well-kept examples with clean history and strong maintenance records should hold value better than average.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.12/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.12/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,492, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,401 average.
• The 2015 stands out for its daring styling and practical efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping case, the 2016 is the better primary target because it combines a favorable price trend with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If your main goal is to spend less up front, the 2015 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one with a clean history and good condition.
