Is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights a vehicle that many owners found enjoyable to live with over time, especially for its luxury-and-performance mix. At the same time, some reviewers mentioned mechanical issues, so reliability confidence depends heavily on how well a specific used example has been maintained. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing the cleanest, best-documented vehicle you can find.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

At 67.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on mechanical condition, suspension behavior, and signs of deferred maintenance. Because this model can be expensive to own if problems are missed, condition and documentation matter more than chasing the lowest sticker price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 860 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,637, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $15,637 sits slightly below last year's $18,122.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be able to reduce some of that future loss. Still, the softer pricing trend means you should think of this as a value purchase rather than a strong appreciation play.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.71% compared with last year.

The bottom line: You should buy the 2016 if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and available inventory in this group. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also keep shopping nearby years and compare condition closely, but the 2016 is a sensible primary target when you find a well-kept example with clean history.
