Is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. Owners repeatedly praise the blend of luxury and performance, along with the powerful engine, smooth ride, beautiful interior, and spaciousness. The overview also frames it as a luxury SUV that works well as a high-end daily driver, especially if you want upscale features alongside genuine capability. With 33.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a vehicle that many people enjoy for its luxury-and-performance mix, but it also points to mechanical issues and cumbersome handling at times. That combination suggests you should treat used examples as condition-sensitive purchases rather than assuming every listing will age the same way. For long-term ownership, your risk is highest if you skip a thorough inspection or buy a poorly maintained example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

At 68% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a full vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on mechanical condition, since owner feedback mentions mechanical issues. It also makes sense to pay close attention to overall wear, repair quality, and how the SUV drives, because condition matters a lot on a luxury model like this.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 865 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,513, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $15,513 sits slightly below last year's $18,125.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce some of that depreciation pressure. The biggest resale risk is overpaying for a used example that already reflects the model's softer market position.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want a luxury SUV with strong owner appeal and you can shop carefully for condition and history. If your priority is stretching your budget, the 2016 can still make sense, but you should be especially selective and compare it against nearby years to see whether a cleaner or better-priced example is available.
