Is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the powerful engine, smooth ride, beautiful interior, and spaciousness. The overview also frames it as a luxury SUV that balances refinement with real off-road ability, making it appealing if you want upscale comfort with broader capability than many rivals. Is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights a mix of confidence and caution: owners describe it as powerful, smooth, and luxurious, while also noting mechanical issues and cumbersome handling in some cases. The overview reinforces that reliability and maintenance costs remain weak points, so you should expect ownership to be more demanding than the average used SUV. For used buyers, that means long-term risk is less about whether the vehicle can be appealing and more about whether the specific example has been maintained carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

At 65.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on mechanical condition, suspension behavior, and signs of deferred maintenance, since the model’s ownership costs can be sensitive to neglect. It also makes sense to prioritize examples with clear service records and consistent wear patterns, especially if you plan to keep the SUV for the long haul.

What is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $15,444 sits slightly below last year's $17,960.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation rather than model-year momentum alone. Well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones because buyers in this segment tend to reward clean history and strong presentation.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.01% compared with last year.
