That combination suggests the QX80 can be a reassuring choice if you want a used luxury SUV you can count on for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained properly and not worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 INFINITI QX80?

At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or repair issues. Focus closely on overall condition, since a luxury SUV like this can vary a lot depending on how it was maintained and driven. It also makes sense to compare service records and wear items carefully, especially if you want a cleaner example with fewer surprises.

What is the 2016 INFINITI QX80's resale value?

The current average of $14,446 sits slightly below last year's $15,846.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make future resale a little more sensitive to condition, mileage, and maintenance history. If you buy well and keep the SUV in strong shape, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. A clean history and solid upkeep matter even more when the broader market is already leaning lower.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 INFINITI QX80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a solid choice if you want a well-liked, feature-rich full-size luxury SUV and you can find one with a clean history and strong maintenance records. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it’s worth comparing nearby years and focusing on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than chasing a specific model year alone.
