How much does the 2016 INFINITI Q50 cost?

Prices have softened 2.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 470 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 INFINITI Q50 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its performance, power, comfort, handling, and spaciousness. That lines up with the overview’s emphasis on a stylish, technologically sophisticated luxury sports sedan that can appeal to drivers who want something different from the usual segment choices.

With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for its comfort, performance, and family-friendly spaciousness. The expert evaluation also describes it as a legitimate luxury sports sedan that can be taken more seriously after the 2016 update, which supports the idea that it’s a car you can count on for a broad mix of duties.

The powertrain and chassis tuning are presented as durable-feeling and confidence-inspiring, with smooth shifting and strong braking contributing to an easy ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 INFINITI Q50?

At 45.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a sportier setup. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you’re paying for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.0t Premium is described as attractive and upscale, but it lacks leather seats, navigation, and safety-related driver-assistance systems as standard equipment.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is paired with a 7-speed automatic, and the car also offers 3.0t, Sport, Red Sport 400, and Hybrid variants.
• Safety package: The optional Driver Assistance package adds predictive forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic emergency braking, moving-object detection, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Premium models use a dual-screen infotainment system with a 14-speaker Bose premium audio system, but there is no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0t averaged 26.3 mpg on the test loop and is rated at 26 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2016 INFINITI Q50 trim should I buy?

The 2016 INFINITI Q50 is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0t, 3.0t, Sport, Hybrid, Red Sport 400.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0t: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the Q50’s style, comfort, and upscale feel at the lowest price. It’s the trim to target if you’re shopping on a budget and can live without the extra equipment and driver-assistance content.
• 3.0t: This is the smarter step-up if you want more performance without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It’s the trim that better matches the car’s sporty-luxury personality.
• Sport: This is the pick if you want a more serious driving experience and the stronger equipment mix that comes with the sport-oriented setup.
• Hybrid: This is the choice for shoppers who want the Q50’s luxury feel with a more efficiency-minded powertrain.
• Red Sport 400: This is the performance flagship, aimed at buyers who want the most serious power and the most aggressive version of the Q50.

For safety equipment, the Driver Assistance package is the key add-on on lower trims, while additional driver-assistance features are available on the 3.0t, Hybrid, Sport, and Red Sport 400.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 INFINITI Q50?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 470 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 45.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,248, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 INFINITI Q50's resale value?

The current average of $13,675 sits slightly below last year's $13,960.

That softer pricing suggests the Q50 has become a bit easier for buyers to access, which can help keep demand moving in the used market. For a future seller, that means you may need to price competitively if you want to stand out, especially against similarly equipped luxury sedans.

The good news is that the model’s strong owner satisfaction helps support interest from shoppers who value comfort, performance, and features. Well-kept examples should remain easier to market than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 safe?

The 2016 INFINITI Q50 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The optional Driver Assistance package is the key safety upgrade, and it includes predictive forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic emergency braking, moving-object detection, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Additional driver-assistance features are available on the 3.0t, Hybrid, Sport, and Red Sport 400, including blind-spot intervention, lane-departure warning with lane-departure prevention, active lane control, adaptive headlights, and pre-crash seat belts.

The safety writeup also notes that neither NHTSA nor IIHS carried forward the Q50’s frontal-impact test ratings for 2016, so you should pay close attention to equipment level and condition when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2016 INFINITI Q50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2016 update made the Q50 feel more credible as a luxury sports sedan.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,544, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,675 average.
• It offers a wide range of personalities, from comfortable all-weather cruiser to fast sports sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the better-rounded version of the Q50, the 2016 is the stronger pick because it benefits from the update that sharpened its credibility and broadened its appeal. If your priority is saving money, the 2015 can still make sense, especially if you find one in excellent condition and don’t mind giving up some of the 2016’s improvements.
