Is the 2016 GMC Acadia a good car?

Generally — 4.33/5 is a strong user rating for a used family crossover. The 2016 Acadia is positioned as a practical, comfort-first SUV with room for families, available upscale touches, and straightforward mechanicals, so it fits well if you want a roomy used crossover with a more premium feel than its basic shape might suggest. It also stands out as one of the better Acadia years for reliability, which adds to its appeal as a used buy. 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 model is singled out as one of the better Acadia years for reliability, which is encouraging if you want a used SUV that should be easier to live with than many older large crossovers. Its straightforward setup also helps keep the ownership picture simpler than more complex alternatives.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age and mileage can still turn comfort-focused family SUVs into maintenance-heavy purchases if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Acadia?

At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden damage or deferred maintenance. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently, since those factors matter more than cosmetic appeal on an older crossover.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,700 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.47% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,354, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $10,363 sits slightly below last year's $11,575.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future resale gains harder unless you buy well and keep the vehicle in excellent condition. If you pay close to the current average, your room to profit later is limited, so condition and purchase price matter a lot. A clean history and strong maintenance records will matter more if you want to protect value over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,110, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $10,363 average.
• The redesign makes it smaller, lighter, and more modern.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it costs less and has a favorable price trend. If you prefer a newer redesign and can stretch your budget, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
