Used 2016 FIAT 500X for Sale nearLakeland, FL

How much does the 2016 FIAT 500X cost?

Prices have softened 9.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 173 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of used 500X options to compare.

Is the 2016 FIAT 500X a good car?

Generally — the 2016 FIAT 500X earns a 4.17/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating, which points to a solid overall showing for shoppers. The appeal centers on its attractive design, affordable price point, and fun driving experience, while owners also call out good fuel economy plus useful features like GPS and Bluetooth. For you, that makes it a compelling small crossover if you want style and everyday usability in a compact package. The market also shows 33.5% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 FIAT 500X reliable?

Owners rate it 4.17/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. Owner feedback also points to a model that can be dependable when you find a good example, with the strongest ownership experiences tied to cars that avoid the rough-engine and interior-damage issues some shoppers reported. The expert review also frames long-term durability as something that matters a great deal here, and it notes that the model’s reliability outlook was still uncertain at the time. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs a bit. For used buyers, the main risk is that condition and prior care may vary a lot from one vehicle to the next, so a clean service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 FIAT 500X?

At 64.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, interior wear, and any evidence of rough engine behavior, since owner feedback points to those as the kinds of issues that can separate a good ownership experience from a frustrating one. If possible, test the car in the same kinds of driving you plan to do most often so you can judge how it feels in real use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Pop trim is the base model, while Easy, Lounge, Trekking, and Trekking Plus add more equipment and, in the Trekking models, more rugged styling cues. The Pop still gets a contrast-color dashboard insert and a 2-tone appearance for the seats and door panels, but the Lounge Collection 1 package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking-assist sensors.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 180 hp and a 9-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard on the base Pop, while other versions can be had with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The setup is tuned to maximize fuel economy, and the engine is described as strong enough for freeway speeds and mountain grades.
• Safety package: Depending on configuration, you can get forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with active lane assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, rear parking assist sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic high-beam headlights. The base setup does not include every driver-assistance feature, so trim and option choice matter.
• Infotainment: The available 6.5-inch touchscreen comes with the optional navigation system. It keeps the Uconnect system’s easy-to-use layout, includes traditional knobs for volume and tuning, and supports Bluetooth pairing and voice-text reply capability with Android devices. Uconnect Access services are not offered with this setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model is rated at 22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. The all-wheel-drive version is rated at 24 mpg combined.

Which 2016 FIAT 500X trim should I buy?

The 2016 FIAT 500X is offered in 5 trim levels: Pop, Easy, Lounge, Trekking, and Trekking Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Pop: This is the entry point, and it still gives you the 500X’s distinctive style plus the contrast-color dashboard insert and 2-tone seat and door-panel treatment. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but you’ll want to compare equipment carefully because the more advanced safety and convenience features live higher up or in packages.
• Easy: This is the logical step up if you want a little more content without jumping all the way to the more upscale trims. It should appeal if you want a balanced mix of value and everyday usability.
• Lounge: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it combines the more upscale feel with the available Lounge Collection 1 package, which adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking-assist sensors for a relatively modest cost. If you want the most well-rounded version, this is the one to focus on first.
• Trekking: Choose this if you want the more rugged styling cues and a slightly more adventurous look. It’s the trim to consider if appearance matters and you want the 500X to stand apart from the more conventional versions.
• Trekking Plus: This is the most upscale-looking version in the lineup, and it also can be paired with leather for deeper, richer brown seat surfaces and door-panel inserts. It suits you if you want the most premium presentation in the range.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that some of the most useful driver-assistance features are optional or package-dependent, so you should verify exactly what a specific used example includes.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 FIAT 500X?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 173 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,910, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 FIAT 500X's resale value?

The current average of $7,940 sits slightly below last year's $8,774.

That price decline suggests the 500X has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today but may also limit how much value you recover later. If you plan to sell in the future, condition and documentation will matter a lot because the market is already pricing in some softness. A clean, well-kept example should be easier to move than one with visible wear or a questionable history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.17/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 FIAT 500X safe?

The 2016 FIAT 500X had not yet been crash tested by NHTSA or IIHS at the time of the review.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Depending on configuration, you can get forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with active lane assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, rear parking assist sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic high-beam headlights. The base setup does not include all of those features, so you should confirm the exact equipment on any used listing. The review also notes trouble with the LATCH system and the absence of 911 Assist emergency calling on this model.

Should I buy a 2016 FIAT 500X or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.17/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The year stands out for its attractive design, affordable price point, and fun driving experience, with useful features like GPS and Bluetooth.

The bottom line: The 2016 model year makes sense if you want the 500X’s style, value, and driving appeal at a softened price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the current market gives you room to shop selectively and target the better listings, but you should be strict about history and condition before you buy.
