Is the 2016 Audi Q5 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Audi Q5 earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth driving experience, superb interior quality, and impressive performance, and many also value the spaciousness and premium features that make it comfortable and easy to live with. That fits especially well if you want a polished, upscale midsize SUV that emphasizes comfort, quality, and everyday usefulness over flash. Is the 2016 Audi Q5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights the Q5 as smooth, dependable, and comfortable enough to count on for everyday use, with a premium feel that many buyers appreciate over the long term. At the same time, you should be mindful that some owners have reported issues such as excessive oil consumption and failing timing chains, especially in 2.0T models. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk is manageable only if you verify maintenance history carefully and avoid examples with warning signs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi Q5?

At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and maintenance patterns before you get too far into the process. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially if you’re considering a 2.0T model, because condition and service history matter more than mileage alone. Focus on signs of oil consumption, timing-chain-related concerns, and overall cabin and drivetrain condition so you can separate a well-kept Q5 from one that may become expensive to own.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi Q5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2016 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $11,262 sits slightly below last year's $12,522.

That decline suggests the Q5 has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later. Premium SUVs with steady owner satisfaction tend to hold buyer interest better than similar vehicles with weaker reputations.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want a well-equipped luxury SUV at a softer price point and you’re willing to be selective about condition and history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may also be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as a balanced choice when you want premium comfort without paying the highest recent prices.
