Is the 2016 Audi Q5 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Audi Q5 earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth driving experience, superb interior quality, and impressive performance, and many also value the spacious cabin and premium features that make it easy to live with. Is the 2016 Audi Q5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights the Q5 as smooth, dependable, and well suited to long-term use, with many drivers appreciating the solid feel and premium build quality. The same feedback also points to a vehicle that owners feel comfortable counting on for everyday driving. For used buyers, that means the biggest ownership risk is less about day-to-day enjoyment and more about making sure a specific example has been maintained carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi Q5?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you get too far into the process. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially on a luxury SUV where repair costs can add up quickly if something has been neglected. Focus closely on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the cabin and mechanicals reflect careful ownership.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi Q5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 988 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,385, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $11,441 sits slightly below last year's $12,732.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make resale a little more challenging if you buy at the wrong point in the range. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is choosing a well-kept example with strong condition and clear history, since those are the listings that tend to hold buyer interest longer. A lower entry price today can help offset some of that future depreciation pressure.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the Q5’s refined cabin, smooth road manners, and premium feel at a more approachable price point. If you’re shopping primarily on value, this year looks especially appealing because pricing has eased and deal availability is decent. If you want the safest path, focus on the cleanest, best-documented example you can find; if you’re more price-sensitive, a lower-priced listing from this year can still make sense as long as the history and inspection check out.
