You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. Focus on overall condition, service records, and how well the car’s premium features and electronics are working.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2016 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $13,002 sits slightly below last year's $13,892.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you pay close to the current average, you may have less room to absorb depreciation later. A well-kept example with strong demand characteristics should still be easier to move than a neglected one, especially if it presents cleanly and has solid records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a well-liked, well-equipped luxury sedan and you can verify the condition of the specific car you’re considering. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as a balanced option when you want a mix of owner satisfaction, market softness, and usable inventory.
