CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Toyota Corolla
overall

Summary
With 1,640 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,051, 28.0% of 2015 Toyota Corollas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Toyota Corolla 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.17 / 10.
46.4% of 2015 Corolla models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Toyota Corolla stands out as a sensible compact car that still tries to make everyday driving a little more enjoyable. It is described as reliable and sensible transportation, and it even brings a bit of style to the formula. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want an easygoing car that does its job well without feeling plain.
At the same time, the 2015 Toyota Corolla is not presented as a car built around excitement. Its shortcoming is in the areas of “surprise” and “delight,” which suggests it focuses more on dependability and practicality than on standout personality. Even so, the idea that it can provide some driving pleasure helps distinguish it from the most purely utilitarian choices.

Well I thought I had already submitted but here it is again . I like Corolla as a very reliable car and this one looks very good but right now I’m waiting for pries of used cars to come down from where they are now. I think used cars are generally over priced.

Is the 2015 Toyota Corolla a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Toyota Corolla earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
The Corolla is framed as reliable and sensible transportation with a bit of style, so it fits you well if you want an easygoing compact car that handles everyday driving without feeling plain. It is not built around excitement, but it does aim to make the commute a little more enjoyable while still focusing on practicality.
Good and great deals make up 27.8% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Toyota Corolla reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Corolla is described as reliable and dependable, and the expert review also emphasizes that it is cheap to own and expected to retain a big chunk of its original value over time. Its 1.8-liter engine is described as refined and quiet, and the car’s practical focus is reinforced by free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core mechanical formula and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained consistently.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Corolla?
At 46.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment on the car matches the trim you expect.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The L, LE, LE Eco and S each bring different equipment levels, and the base version leaves out some convenience and comfort features that higher trims add.
- Powertrain: All versions use a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, with the LE Eco tuned for better fuel economy and extra horsepower.
- Safety package: A reversing camera is included for the LE trim level and above, while the car does not offer blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, active cruise control with forward-collision warning or automatic braking.
- Infotainment: Bluetooth is standard, and the LE with the Plus Package is the minimum requirement for Entune App Suite; the system uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen.
- Fuel efficiency: The Corolla is described as fuel efficient, and the test car returned 28 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
Which 2015 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?
The 2015 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LE, LE Eco and S.
Here's the short version:
- L: This is the simplest way into the Corolla lineup, and it gives you the core standard equipment without the extra convenience and comfort upgrades found higher up.
- LE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the more efficient CVT, a reversing camera, automatic climate control, cruise control and a stronger everyday feature set.
- LE Eco: Choose this if fuel economy matters most, since it is tuned for better efficiency while keeping much of the LE’s equipment.
- S: This is the sportier choice, with unique styling and a more driver-focused setup, but it is best for you only if you want the added character rather than the best value.
A reversing camera is included for the LE trim level and above.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Corolla?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,625 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 46.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,383, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Toyota Corolla's resale value?
The current average of $12,016 sits slightly above last year's $11,900.
That small increase suggests the Corolla has held its value fairly well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand rather than sharp swings, so you are less likely to face a sudden drop in market value. Its strong cost-effectiveness reputation should help keep it appealing to future shoppers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Toyota Corolla safe?
The 2015 Corolla earns five-star ratings from NHTSA.
It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota does not offer any advanced active safety systems here, and the Corolla’s safety equipment is limited compared with some rivals. A reversing camera is included for the LE trim level and above, but there is no blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, active cruise control with forward-collision warning or automatic braking.
The review also notes that the 2015 Corolla had not yet been officially rated by IIHS at the time, though the closely related 2014 model earned Good ratings in most tests and a Marginal result in the small overlap frontal-impact test.
Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 46.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It balances reliability, practicality and a bit more style than a purely utilitarian compact.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,228, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,016 average.
- It emphasizes efficient, dependable daily driving and long-term usefulness.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $12,798, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,016 average.
- It leans harder into fuel economy, value and a more polished small-car package.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price stability, strong ownership satisfaction and broad availability, the 2015 is the sensible pick. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2014 is the better budget path; if you want a newer-feeling value play and can spend more, the 2016 is worth a look.
