How much does the 2015 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 3.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,496 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and conditions.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Honda Pilot earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and family-friendly practicality. The Pilot also stands out for its comfort and usefulness, especially if you want a roomy three-row SUV that can handle people and gear. At the same time, the overview and reviews point to concerns about fuel economy and engine power, so it fits you best if space and everyday utility matter more than modern tech or sporty performance.

With 32.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s meaningful market value to be found if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with repeated praise for the Pilot’s spaciousness and comfort over the long haul. The expert driving notes also describe it as a stout engine and a stable crossover that performs confidently in everyday use. Honda’s roadside assistance addition for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles adds a useful ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear may show up in fuel economy, powertrain feel, or neglected maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently. Because this model year is older and safety tech is limited, condition matters more than cosmetic appeal.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring trim adds features like Bluetooth, satellite radio, a hard-drive music-storage system, rear-seat DVD entertainment, a 115-volt power outlet, and video input jacks, while the EX, SE, and EX-L are noted for better-looking wheels than the Touring.
• Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 makes 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque, and Variable Cylinder Management helps reduce fuel use on the highway. The 5-speed automatic and available 4-wheel-drive system are part of the package, but mixed-driving fuel economy came in at 18.3 mpg.
• Safety package: The Pilot lacks features such as adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring, and those omissions are especially important if you want newer driver-assistance tech.
• Infotainment: The Touring trim includes Bluetooth, satellite radio, a hard-drive music-storage system, and rear-seat DVD entertainment, but the model lacks smartphone connectivity, mobile-app services, and newer convenience features.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive returned 18.3 mpg in mixed driving, below the EPA’s 20-mpg combined rating.

Which 2015 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Pilot is offered in 4 trim levels: EX, SE, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the trim to target if you want the core Pilot experience without paying for extra entertainment and convenience features. It keeps the model’s family-size practicality intact and is the most straightforward value play.
• SE: Choose this if you want a step up from the most basic setup while staying focused on usefulness rather than luxury. It sits in the middle of the lineup and should appeal if you want a balanced mix of equipment and price.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort-oriented appeal while staying below the Touring’s higher-cost extras. It’s the trim to consider if you want a more polished family hauler without chasing the top end.
• Touring: Pick this if you want the most equipment, including Bluetooth, satellite radio, a hard-drive music-storage system, rear-seat DVD entertainment, a 115-volt power outlet, and video input jacks. It’s the right choice if rear-seat entertainment and convenience matter most.

The safety content still makes the Pilot a weaker choice for shoppers who want modern driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,496 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,526, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $11,526 sits slightly below last year's $11,938.

That downward trend suggests the market is still rewarding buyers more than sellers right now. If you plan to sell later, you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the vehicle has a clean history. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers still want the Pilot’s space and family usefulness.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2015 Honda Pilot earns a Poor rating in the IIHS small overlap front test and four-star overall crash protection from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The Pilot’s safety equipment is dated by modern standards, with no adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane-departure warning, or blind-spot monitoring. That lack of active safety tech is a major reason this model year trails newer rivals. The poor small-overlap result is the biggest caveat, even though the Pilot performs well in other IIHS tests.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 offers strong family utility, but its dated safety and infotainment tech make it best for buyers prioritizing space over modern features.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,773, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,526 average.
• It focuses on practicality, space, and budget-friendly family hauling.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,708, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,526 average.
• It brings a redesigned package with newer hardware and more modern family appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the lowest-cost path into a roomy three-row Pilot, the 2015 is the sweet spot to shop. If price is your top priority, the 2014 is the better bargain; if you want newer tech and a more modern design, it makes sense to stretch to the 2016.
