How much does the 2015 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 2.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,474 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Honda Pilot earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and family-friendly practicality. The overview also points to a roomy three-row layout that seats eight, which fits your needs well if you value passenger and cargo space over the latest styling trends. At the same time, the user feedback and expert notes both suggest that fuel economy and engine power are not its strongest traits.

The market also shows 33.2% of listings as good or great deals, so you may find attractive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with repeated praise for the Pilot’s spaciousness and comfort over time. The expert notes also describe it as a vehicle that can serve family duty well, and the cost-effectiveness section adds roadside assistance for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles, which helps ownership confidence early on.

That said, used buyers should still watch for maintenance history and verify that the vehicle has been cared for consistently, especially given the age of the model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

At 57.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually strong. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle’s family-hauler duties have left any wear in the cabin or drivetrain. Because this model year is older and safety tech is limited, condition matters even more than usual.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring trim stands out for its unique wheels, while the EX, SE, and EX-L are called out as having more appealing wheel designs. The Touring also shows how the upper trims add more visual distinction, but the base-level feature set is still centered on practicality rather than modern luxury.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-liter V6 with 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 5-speed automatic. The engine is described as surprisingly strong in real-world driving, and Variable Cylinder Management helps reduce fuel use on the highway.
• Safety package: The Pilot lacks newer driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. That absence is a major trim-level consideration if safety tech matters to you.
• Infotainment: Touring models include Bluetooth, satellite radio, a hard-drive music-storage system, rear-seat DVD entertainment, a 115-volt power outlet, and video input jacks. The model does not offer smartphone pairing, connected services, or newer convenience tech.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert observed 18.3 mpg in mixed driving, versus an EPA combined rating of 20 mpg.

Which 2015 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Pilot is offered in 4 trim levels: EX, SE, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the trim to target if you want the core Pilot experience without paying for extras you may not need. It keeps the model’s main strengths focused on space and family usefulness.
• SE: This trim sits above the entry-level setup and is a sensible step up if you want a little more equipment while staying value-conscious.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it balances comfort and equipment without pushing all the way to the top of the range.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the most features, including the Touring-specific wheels and the richest infotainment setup, but it is the least value-focused choice.

The safety content also makes clear that the Pilot misses several advanced driver-assistance features, so none of the trims fully solves that gap.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,474 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,552, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $11,740 sits slightly below last year's $12,024.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help if you buy now and sell later. For a future seller, the upside is that the Pilot’s family-friendly reputation and broad usefulness still support demand. The downside is that aging technology and safety equipment may limit how much value it can hold versus newer rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2015 Honda Pilot earns a Poor rating in the IIHS small overlap front test and four-star ratings overall from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety content makes the biggest issue clear: this model year lacks several modern driver-assistance features, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control. The expert summary also points you toward the redesigned 2016 version if safety is a priority. On the positive side, the Pilot does earn Good ratings in the other IIHS tests mentioned, but the poor small-overlap result is a meaningful drawback for used buyers.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary says it remains a spacious family hauler, but its aging design and limited tech make it best for practical buyers.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,768, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,740 average.
• It emphasizes practicality, space, and budget-friendly usefulness.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,780, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,740 average.
• It brings a full redesign with more modern safety and infotainment features.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of space, value, and current-market pricing, the 2015 is the sensible pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 can save you money while keeping the same basic family-hauler mission. If safety tech and newer features matter more than price, it makes sense to stretch to the 2016.
