Is the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its great driving experience, reliability, and strong off-road capabilities, and many also like its comfort and the way it holds its value over time. Is the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, and the review summary also points to durable ownership traits that help this SUV feel dependable over time. That matters if you want a used vehicle you can count on for years rather than something that feels fragile or high-maintenance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how hard a specific example has been used and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser?

At 62% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the SUV has seen off-road use or shows signs of heavy wear. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and evidence of how the vehicle was driven, since those factors matter a lot on a rugged model like this.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 129 listings available.

If you find a listing below $27,834, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser's resale value?

The current average of $27,834 sits slightly below last year's $29,417.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to own the vehicle for a while. For a future seller, the current softness may limit short-term upside, but the model’s loyal following can still support demand when you eventually list it. Because this SUV has a strong enthusiast appeal, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than many other used SUVs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2014 if you want the last North American FJ Cruiser and value its strong owner satisfaction, off-road character, and current market softness. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on the lower end of the range and be ready to move quickly on a clean, well-documented example.
