The overview points to standard all-wheel drive, a six-speed manual transmission, and a turbocharged 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder engine, so you’re looking at a car built around driver engagement and all-weather capability. Is the 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a car built with serious performance hardware and standard all-wheel drive, which supports its reputation as a durable enthusiast choice when maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept of the car and more about how hard it may have been driven and how well it was cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX?

At 48.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who can evaluate signs of prior damage or hard use. Focus closely on overall condition, since a performance car like this can vary a lot from one example to the next. Pay extra attention to maintenance records, drivetrain behavior, and any signs that the car has been modified or neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 253 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.41% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $13,827, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX's resale value?

The current average of $14,312 sits slightly above last year's $13,839.

That kind of upward movement suggests the market has been willing to pay a bit more for this model year, which can help support resale value if you buy well and keep the car in strong condition. For a future seller, the combination of steady demand and a defined price range means presentation, maintenance history, and condition will matter a lot when it’s time to list. Cars that stay close to stock and remain well documented are usually easier to position competitively.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.41% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of performance character, everyday usability, and market support, the 2014 is the primary path to consider. If you’re more price-sensitive, focus on the best-maintained example you can find and be willing to compare carefully across listings, since condition and history will matter more than simply chasing the lowest sticker price.
