Is the 2014 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.55/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the towing capacity, powerful engine, and spacious interior, and many also value the comfort and durability of the Laramie trim. For you, that means this truck fits especially well if you want heavy-duty capability with enough refinement for daily use. Is the 2014 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.55/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes durability, dependability, and a truck that many people feel confident using for both work and everyday driving. That kind of response suggests the 2014 RAM 2500 can be a reassuring choice if you want a used heavy-duty pickup you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure prior use and maintenance history are clean before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 RAM 2500?

At 64.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you go any further. Then prioritize a thorough inspection, especially for signs of heavy-duty use, uneven wear, or repairs that could affect long-term value. You should also focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence, since a truck like this can vary a lot depending on how it was used.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 949 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.68% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,006, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $25,073 sits slightly below last year's $26,304.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the truck in strong condition and maintain clear service records, you give yourself a better chance of holding value. Trucks with broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction tend to stay easier to move when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.55/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.55/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, the 2014 RAM 2500 is a sensible primary choice, especially if you find one with clean history and solid maintenance records. If you are more price-sensitive, keep an eye on nearby model years and compare condition closely, since the best value may come down to the individual truck rather than the badge year alone.
