Is the 2014 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2014 RAM 2500 earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the impressive towing capacity, powerful engine, and spacious interior, and many also value the comfort and durability of the Laramie model. For you, that means this truck fits especially well if you want serious work capability without giving up everyday comfort. With 27.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping opportunity.

Is the 2014 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes durability, dependability, and a truck that many people feel confident using for both work and daily driving. That kind of praise suggests the 2014 RAM 2500 can be a reassuring choice if you want a heavy-duty truck you can count on over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about broad owner dissatisfaction and more about finding a truck that has been maintained well and not overworked.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 RAM 2500?

At 66.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean trucks from those with accident records or other red flags. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the truck’s condition, especially signs of hard use, wear, or deferred maintenance. Because this is a heavy-duty pickup, you should focus on how well it has been cared for rather than just how it looks in photos.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 982 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,620, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $24,620 sits slightly below last year's $25,974.

That softer pricing can work in your favor if you buy now, because you may be entering at a more favorable point in the market. For a future seller, though, it also means resale upside may be more limited unless the truck is especially clean, well maintained, and attractively equipped. Trucks with strong demand and broad owner approval tend to hold attention better when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a comfortable cabin, and a market that still offers some deal potential, the 2014 is a sensible primary choice. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you can also consider a different year with lower pricing, but you may give up some of the 2014’s balance of satisfaction and value.
