At 51% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Focus on condition, maintenance documentation, and signs of prior damage or incomplete repairs, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive.

What is the 2014 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $15,402 sits slightly above last year's $15,348.

That small increase suggests the RX has held its value fairly well, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand rather than a market that is weakening quickly. For you, that means a well-kept RX should remain relatively easy to move when it's time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,119, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $15,402 average.
• It adds a more assertive F Sport option.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2014 if you want the lower entry price and a proven comfort-first luxury SUV. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer alternative with a bit more polish in the lineup, the 2015 is worth a look; otherwise, the 2014 remains the better value play for price-sensitive buyers.
