Used 2014 Jeep Cherokee for Sale near Florida

How much does the 2014 Jeep Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 7.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,246 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price, trim, and condition.

Is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

With a 3.86/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee lands in the appealing-but-not-universal category. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners repeatedly point to comfort, stylish design, and good features, especially in the higher trims. The expert review also highlights strong performance, foul-weather handling, comfort, and materials, which fits the Cherokee’s role as a versatile crossover rather than a bare-bones utility vehicle.

That said, the same owner feedback also flags sluggishness from the 4-cylinder engine and some reliability and feature-quality concerns, so your satisfaction may depend heavily on trim and powertrain choice. With 30.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is presented as a comfortable crossover with strong capability, but the ownership picture is mixed. Owner feedback specifically points to reliability concerns alongside praise for comfort and interior quality, so you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important.

The expert review also describes the Cherokee as refined in V6 form, with the engine feeling and sounding equally polished at low and high revs, and the 9-speed automatic showing a knack for finding the right gear. On the ownership side, Jeep’s 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage and roadside assistance add some reassurance for buyers who want a longer ownership runway.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a well-equipped Cherokee can still become frustrating if prior care was inconsistent, so a thorough inspection and service-history review matter more than usual.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Jeep Cherokee?

At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a prior accident record. Focus on overall condition, signs of uneven wear, and whether the features and equipment work as expected, since owner feedback mentions concerns about feature quality. If you’re choosing between trims, pay close attention to how much equipment you’re getting for the money.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport comes with Bluetooth connectivity and streaming audio, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a 5-inch touchscreen Uconnect system with voice control, USB and auxiliary inputs, and 17-inch steel wheels. Latitude adds fog lights, roof rails, a 115-volt outlet, a fold-flat front passenger seat with storage, leather accent trim, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Limited adds automatic headlights, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rear-view camera, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, push-button start, an 8.4-inch screen, and 18-inch alloys. Trailhawk is the off-road-focused version with a standard full-time 4WD system, locking rear axle, skid plates, raised suspension, all-terrain tires, and hill-descent control.
• Powertrain: Standard models use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with 184 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic. An optional 3.2-liter V6 makes 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque and is not offered on the Sport. Fuel economy is described as competitive, with FWD 4-cylinder models rated up to 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, while the V6 returns 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway in FWD form.
• Safety package: The standard safety equipment includes 10 airbags, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, hill-start assist, a rear-view camera, front active head restraints, bright LED taillights, and emergency response services through Uconnect. The optional Technology Group adds blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure and forward-collision systems, intelligent cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and parallel/perpendicular self-parking. It is restricted to Limited and Trailhawk models.
• Infotainment: Standard Uconnect includes a 5-inch touchscreen with voice control, USB and auxiliary inputs, Bluetooth connectivity, and streaming audio. Higher trims get an 8.4-inch screen, and the system can serve as a Wi-Fi hotspot. The text does not mention wireless CarPlay or Android Auto, or over-the-air updates.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.4-liter FWD model is rated at up to 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, while Active Drive I 4WD lowers that to 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. The V6 in FWD form is rated at 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, and Active Drive I trims lose 1 mpg on the highway. Trailhawk models and those with Active Drive II give up another 1 to 3 mpg.

Which 2014 Jeep Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited, Trailhawk.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the basics: Bluetooth, streaming audio, a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, voice control, USB and auxiliary inputs, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, and 17-inch steel wheels. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price, but it leaves out a lot of the comfort and convenience equipment found higher up the range.
• Latitude: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds fog lights, roof rails, a 115-volt outlet, a fold-flat front passenger seat with storage, leather accent trim, and 17-inch alloy wheels. It’s the trim to target if you want a more complete everyday setup without jumping all the way to the pricier Limited.
• Limited: This trim adds the most comfort and convenience equipment, including automatic headlights, heated mirrors, dual-zone climate control, a rear-view camera, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, push-button start, and the larger 8.4-inch screen. It suits you best if you want the Cherokee to feel properly equipped.
• Trailhawk: This is the off-road-oriented choice, with a standard full-time 4WD system, locking rear axle, skid plates, raised suspension, all-terrain tires, and hill-descent control. Choose it if you want the most rugged hardware and can live with the tradeoffs that come with that setup.

The safety-oriented Technology Group is restricted to Limited and Trailhawk models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Jeep Cherokee?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,246 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,681, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $8,690 sits slightly below last year's $9,362.

That decline suggests the Cherokee has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing trend means you should expect resale value to remain sensitive to mileage, condition, and trim.

Higher-trim examples with desirable equipment may hold up better than base models, but the market still appears to reward clean history and strong presentation. If you buy well now, you may limit your future loss more effectively than if you overpay for a rough example.

Is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee safe?

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee earned a spot on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Picks list, and it had not yet been crash tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration when this review was written.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes 10 airbags, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, hill-start assist, a rear-view camera, front active head restraints, bright LED taillights, and emergency response services through Uconnect. If you want more advanced protection, the optional Technology Group adds blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure and forward-collision systems, intelligent cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and parallel and perpendicular self-parking.

One important caveat is that the Technology Group is limited to Limited and Trailhawk models, so buyers of lower trims miss out on that extra layer of driver assistance.

Should I buy a 2014 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.18% compared with last year.
• The model is described as a versatile crossover with strong performance, foul-weather handling, comfort, and materials.

The bottom line: If you want the Cherokee’s combination of comfort, capability, and value, the 2014 is a reasonable place to shop, especially if you can verify a clean history and find a well-kept higher trim. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the best-maintained example you can find rather than chasing the cheapest listing, because condition and equipment matter a lot on this model.
