How much does the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices are up 2.03% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 169 listings available, which gives you a modest pool to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe earns an 8.17/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The Santa Fe is framed as a genuinely usable three-row people mover, with room for six sizable people and a more realistic adult-friendly layout than many rivals. It also brings roomier, more comfortable accommodations than several competitors, plus stylish design and engaging driving dynamics, so you get practicality without giving up much personality.

That combination makes it a strong fit if you want a midsize crossover that feels more sophisticated than the average family hauler. 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

The Santa Fe is presented as making sense for safety and cost of ownership, and its ownership case is strengthened by a 5-year/60,000-mile limited warranty, 5 years of roadside assistance with no mileage limit, and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

Its dependability story is mixed but not alarming: the model receives average reliability predictions, while the redesigned version was rated “better than most” in a prior quality study, which points to improvement. The powertrain is described as strong, refined, and quiet, and the transmission is said to shift quickly and smoothly, which is a good sign for everyday durability and drivability.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that ownership costs and condition will vary more by maintenance history than by the model’s basic design.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 54.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on bodywork quality, signs of prior collision repair, and whether the safety and convenience equipment works as advertised. Because this is a three-row crossover, also pay close attention to seat condition, interior wear, and how well the cabin has held up under family use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLS starts at $30,655 and can be equipped with optional all-wheel drive, a Premium Package, and a Technology Package. The Limited adds the Premium Package content plus second-row captain’s chairs, leather seats, a power front passenger seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless passive entry with push-button start, a power liftgate, a blind-spot information system, upgraded instrumentation, rear side window sunshades, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass, and a universal garage door opener. The Limited is the better-value choice if you want the richer cabin and convenience features without piecing together options.
• Powertrain: The bigger Santa Fe uses a 3.3-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic and Active Eco mode. It is described as strong, refined, and quiet, and AWD adds torque-vectoring traction management.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes Blue Link telematics with 3 free years of Assurance Connected Care, including Automatic Collision Notification and SOS Emergency Assistance. Available equipment includes a reversing camera, rear parking assist sensors, and a blind-spot information system. The base setup does not include some of the more advanced camera and lighting upgrades mentioned in the review.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes Bluetooth with audio streaming, satellite radio, an auxiliary input jack, and a USB port. Available upgrades include navigation and infotainment with an 8-inch color touchscreen, HD Radio, and a Surround Sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Santa Fe is rated at 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, or 24 mpg highway with AWD. It is also rated at 21 mpg combined, and the test vehicle averaged 20.9 mpg.

Which 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 2 trim levels: GLS and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• GLS: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Santa Fe’s core space, V6 power, and standard tech without stretching for the pricier trim. It can be optioned with AWD and the major packages, but you’ll want to compare carefully because the richer equipment list lives higher up.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim if you want the Santa Fe to feel properly upscale. It adds leather, captain’s chairs, more convenience features, and a more premium overall cabin experience, making it the trim most buyers should target.

The safety package includes useful standard and available features, but the review notes that Hyundai could improve the reversing camera and add active headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 169 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.03% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 54.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,608, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $9,159 sits slightly above last year's $8,977.

That upward move suggests the Santa Fe has held demand reasonably well for a used three-row crossover. If you buy well and keep mileage and condition in check, you should have a decent shot at preserving value relative to the broader market.

For a future seller, the key will be presenting a clean history and strong maintenance records, since buyers in this segment tend to reward condition and equipment. The fact that prices are trending up also means a well-kept example may be easier to position competitively later.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe received the highest IIHS rating of Good in 4 of 5 tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Santa Fe’s safety equipment is practical rather than flashy, with available reversing camera, rear parking assist sensors, and blind-spot information system support. Every Santa Fe also gets Blue Link telematics with 3 free years of Assurance Connected Care, including Automatic Collision Notification and SOS Emergency Assistance.

One caveat is that the review notes the IIHS had not yet assessed the Santa Fe in the difficult small-overlap frontal-impact test at the time. That means you should weigh the available crash-test results alongside the vehicle’s safety features and condition.

Should I buy a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.03% year-over-year.
• The 2014 is praised for being roomier and more comfortable than several competitors, while also offering stylish design and engaging driving dynamics.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,709, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $9,159 average.
• It adds a more engaging turbocharged driving character.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger value play, the 2014 is the better starting point because it combines a lower average price with a practical, upscale-feeling cabin. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer alternative and want a different driving character, the 2015 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2014.
