Used 2014 Dodge Durango for Sale nearHomestead, FL

How much does the 2014 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices have softened 6.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 672 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Dodge Durango a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Dodge Durango earns a 4.45/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the spacious interior, comfort, power, and quality materials, and they also like the smooth operation of the Uconnect system. That lines up with the Durango’s appeal as a roomy, refined SUV that can work well for family duty and road trips.

The main tradeoff is that reliability and cost-of-ownership expectations are unfavorable, so this is a better fit if you value space, comfort, and features more than low running costs. 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.45/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable in day-to-day use, with repeated praise for comfort, space, and the sense that it can be counted on for family hauling. At the same time, some owners report engine and climate control concerns, so the reliability picture is not spotless.

The Durango’s performance notes also support a durable, composed character: it revs smoothly, handles freeway merging confidently, and feels rugged and impervious to rough roads. On the ownership side, the cost-effectiveness notes warn that reliability and ownership costs are expected to be below average, so a used example is best approached with a careful maintenance review.

Long-term ownership risk is real here, so you should prioritize service records and a pre-purchase inspection before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Dodge Durango?

At 58.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then focus your inspection on bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair quality. Because the Durango has a mix of comfort, tech, and available safety equipment, condition matters a lot more than simply chasing the lowest price.

Pay close attention to how the cabin systems operate, especially the climate control and infotainment features, since owners have flagged those areas. If you can, prioritize a test drive that includes highway speeds, rough pavement, and a full check of all electronics.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SXT is the most stripped-down version, while the SXT Plus adds a 12-way power driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, roof-rail crossbars, and satellite radio. The Limited adds leather seats, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Uconnect Access, dual USB charging ports, a 115-volt outlet, an upgraded sound system, remote engine start, a reversing camera, rear parking-assist sensors, and a universal garage door opener. The R/T adds a V8, sport-tuned hardware, and a more performance-focused setup, while the Citadel adds the most upscale cabin and convenience equipment.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 290 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The available 5.7-liter V8 adds more power and raises towing capacity to 7,400 pounds, while the V6-equipped Durango is rated at 6,200 pounds of towing.
• Safety package: Trailer Sway Control is standard on all models. The Limited can be upgraded with rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights, and Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection. That same blind-spot and cross-path system is also available on the R/T and Citadel, bundled with Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward-Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation.
• Infotainment: The Durango uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Uconnect Access on higher trims, and the system supports a configurable center display on some versions. Uconnect Access adds traffic, weather, gas-station search, movie listings, sports scores, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and emergency calling.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle averaged 18.2 mpg, and the EPA estimate for that AWD setup was 19 mpg.

Which 2014 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2014 Dodge Durango is offered in 4 trim levels: SXT, SXT Plus, Limited, R/T, Citadel.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point if you want the Durango’s core space and capability at the lowest price, but it is the least equipped version.
• SXT Plus: This is the best-value choice if you want a more livable daily driver, since it adds a power driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, roof-rail crossbars, and satellite radio without jumping all the way to the pricier trims.
• Limited: This is the sweet spot for many shoppers because it adds leather, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, the 8.4-inch touchscreen, Uconnect Access, remote start, and useful parking and camera features.
• R/T: Choose this if you want the V8 and the sportier hardware, including performance steering, a sport-tuned suspension, heavy-duty brakes, and 20-inch wheels.
• Citadel: This is the most upscale version, with premium leather, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, navigation, and extra chrome and convenience features.

The safety-package trims are worth noting: the Limited, R/T, and Citadel are the versions that can bring in the more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 672 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,429, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $10,740 sits slightly below last year's $11,505.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Durango more attractive to buyers but less favorable for sellers trying to maximize return. If you plan to sell later, you should expect value retention to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history.

The current pricing also reflects a model that is still appealing for its space, comfort, and features, but not especially strong on ownership-cost perception. That means a clean, well-documented example should hold up better than one with visible wear or incomplete service records.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.45/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2014 Dodge Durango earns four-star ratings in frontal-impact driver protection and rollover resistance, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Durango includes Ready Alert Braking, Rain Brake Support, and Trailer Sway Control as standard equipment. Uconnect Access and its 911 button also add an emergency-response element, and higher trims can bring in a reversing camera, rear parking-assist sensors, Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Forward-Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation.

IIHS testing gives the Durango Good ratings in the measures it was assessed for, though the small-overlap frontal test had not been assessed at the time of the review. Models with the optional Forward-Collision Warning system also receive a Basic front crash prevention rating from IIHS.

Should I buy a 2014 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.45/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out for its roomy cabin, strong tech, and available advanced safety features, while still offering a refined, durable driving feel.

The bottom line: If you want a used Durango with strong space, comfort, and technology, the 2014 is a sensible place to shop. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can still find value here, but you should be selective about condition and history because ownership-cost concerns make a clean, well-maintained example much more important than usual.
