Used 2014 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearTucson, AZ

How much does the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 10.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 744 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, multitude of features, and good gas mileage, which makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy family crossover. The overview also points to broad appeal beyond pure utility, since it is described as dynamically satisfying and able to deliver full-size SUV space in a more fuel-efficient package.

With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you are comparing value across used three-row crossovers.

Is the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights spaciousness, features, and good gas mileage, while also noting that the Traverse can be a dependable family hauler when you prioritize utility and value. The expert summary adds that you can save thousands off the sticker price, which helps offset average predicted reliability and cost-of-ownership ratings.

Chevrolet also includes free scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 24,000 miles, which can help reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that mileage-related issues may matter more than the initial bargain, so a careful pre-purchase inspection is important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 57.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, alignment, and any signs of prior repair quality. Because some owners mention engine noise and possible transmission issues, it is smart to focus on how the drivetrain behaves during a cold start, acceleration, and a longer test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS is the simplest version, while the 1LT adds aluminum wheels, foglights, remote engine start, rear parking assist sensors, a front-center airbag, and nicer trim inside and out. The 2LT adds triple-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, second-row captain’s chairs, a universal garage door opener, auto-dimming mirrors, a power rear liftgate, Chevrolet MyLink technology, and a Bose premium audio system with rear-seat audio controls and headphone jacks. The LTZ adds leather seats, ventilated front seats, memory for the driver’s settings, an 8-way power adjustable front passenger’s seat, a heated steering wheel, a side blind-zone alert system, a lane-departure warning system, a forward collision warning system, chrome exterior trim, and 20-inch aluminum wheels.
• Powertrain: A 3.6-liter V6 makes between 281 and 288 horsepower depending on trim, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and AWD is optional, and the Traverse is described as surprisingly dynamic while still returning better efficiency than a traditional full-size SUV.
• Safety package: OnStar is standard and includes automatic crash response, crisis assist, and emergency services. A reversing camera is standard, rear parking assist sensors are included on the 1LT and 2LT, and forward collision alert plus lane-departure warning are available on the LT2 and standard on the LTZ. The side blind-zone alert system is standard only on the LTZ.
• Infotainment: Chevrolet MyLink uses a 6.5-inch color touchscreen and includes Bluetooth streaming audio, Internet radio access, phonebook contacts, and music-library access. A navigation system is available, and the rear-seat DVD entertainment system adds a single rear screen, wireless headphones, a Bose 5.1 Surround Sound audio system, and video-game input jacks.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says the Traverse is more fuel-efficient than a traditional big SUV, and a test vehicle averaged 17.8 mpg in mixed driving.

Which 2014 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2014 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, 1LT, 2LT, LTZ.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the value-focused starting point, but it is also the most basic version and lacks some of the convenience and safety upgrades found higher up the range. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and are willing to live without the extra equipment.
• 1LT: This trim adds a useful mix of comfort and convenience features, including remote start, rear parking assist sensors, and nicer interior trim. It is a strong step up if you want a better everyday experience without moving all the way to the top.
• 2LT: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds major family-friendly upgrades such as triple-zone climate control, heated front seats, second-row captain’s chairs, a power liftgate, MyLink, and a Bose audio system. If you want the most balanced mix of features and price, this is the trim to target.
• LTZ: This is the most fully equipped version, with leather, ventilated front seats, memory settings, a heated steering wheel, and advanced safety features including blind-zone alert, lane-departure warning, and forward collision warning. Choose it if you want the most upscale Traverse experience.

The safety package note is important: the side blind-zone alert system is standard only on the LTZ.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 744 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,202, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $7,204 sits slightly below last year's $8,078.

That decline suggests the Traverse has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your eventual resale position. Listings that are accident-free and well maintained should remain easier to move than higher-risk examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2014 Chevrolet Traverse earns five-star ratings from NHTSA in every assessment except rollover resistance, for which it earns a four-star rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it its highest rating of Good in nearly every test, along with a Basic front crash prevention rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a reversing camera and OnStar services with automatic crash response, crisis assist, and emergency services. Rear parking assist sensors are included on the 1LT and 2LT, while forward collision alert and lane-departure warning are available on the LT2 and standard on the LTZ. The side blind-zone alert system is standard only on the LTZ.

Should I buy a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out for its roomy cabin, strong safety story, and value-oriented pricing.

The bottom line: If you want a spacious three-row crossover with strong safety credentials and a lower used price, the 2014 Traverse is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, shop carefully for the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the absolute cheapest listing.

How does the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse compare to the 2014 GMC Acadia?

Our experts score the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse 7.7/10 and the 2014 GMC Acadia 7/10.

The Traverse is the better pick if you want more value and a lower average used price, while the Acadia carries a slightly higher average used price but also a somewhat stronger share of good and great deals. Both deliver the same city and highway fuel-economy figures in this comparison, so your decision comes down more to pricing, inventory, and which cabin/package better fits your needs.
