With a number of available trim options, including sedan and wagon body styles (not to mention the CTS Coupe, a separate model), the 2013 Cadillac CTS remains virtually unchanged from 2013. All 2013 Cadillac CTS trims are equipped with one of two engine packages: A 3.0-liter DOHC direct-injection V6 VVT engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that achieves 270 hp and 223 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.6-liter DOHC direct-injection V6 VVT engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that makes 318 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. The 3.0L Luxury sedan trim comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, which is upgradeable to the automatic. Both engine packages are powered by regular gas and are estimated to get 18 mpg city/26 highway.

Standard features found on all sedans include cruise control, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, remote keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted audio and cruise controls, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, rear window defogger, Bose 8-speaker audio system with AM/FM stereo, single-slot CD player and MP3 playback, halogen Tungsten headlights, heated and power adjustable exterior mirrors, and 17-inch painted aluminum alloy wheels. Upgrading to a Luxury trim adds an 8-way power adjustable front passenger seat, front seat lumbar support, heated front seats and a rear-view camera. For those opting for a Performance trim, additional amenities include a 10-speaker Bose Surround-Sound audio system, HID headlights with adaptive forward lighting, a sport suspension and 18-inch premium multicoat aluminum alloy wheels. The Premium trims upgrade the sound system to a Bose 5.1 Surround-Sound system, keyless access and start, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, power sunroof, rear park assist and 18-inch high-polished aluminum alloy wheels.

The 2013 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon also offers a number of trim options. The Base trim includes as standard equipment automatic dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, 7-speaker Bose audio system and 17-inch painted aluminum alloy wheels. Choosing the Luxury trim adds leather seats, power adjustable heated front seats with lumbar support, HID headlights with adaptive forward lighting and a rear-view camera. Buyers choosing the Performance trim also receive a 10-speaker Bose 5.1 Surround-Sound audio system, sport suspension and 18-inch premium multicoat aluminum alloy wheels, while Premium trim buyers will get a heated steering wheel, power telescopic steering column, keyless access and start, heated and ventilated front seats, an HDD-based navigation system, rear park assist, power sunroof and 18-inch high-polished aluminum alloy wheels.

All 2013 Cadillac CTS trims come with many standard safety features, including dual-stage frontal driver, dual-depth frontal passenger with passenger sensing system, driver and right-front passenger side impact and front and rear outboard head curtain airbags. Other safety and features include daytime running lights, a 4-wheel antilock braking system, traction control with stability enhancement, automatic crash response, tire pressure-monitoring system and a stolen vehicle assistance system.

Whether choosing the 4-door sedan or 5-door sport wagon, the 2013 Cadillac CTS offers a number of different options for buyers. Although the sedans face steady competition from the Acura TL, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the sport wagons find themselves in the same market niche as the Acura TSX Sportswagon, BMW 3 Series Wagon and Volvo XC70, all have the same Cadillac standard of excellence when it comes to performance and styling. All are solid choices for even the most discerning of luxury vehicle shoppers.
