Used Bentley Continental Supersports for Sale near Memphis, TN
Overview
Discontinuing the base coupe and convertible, the 2013 Bentley Continental Supersports is now singular in all but name, drivers vastly preferring the ice speed record-holder or ISR, as it is called, over any other high-performance Bentley convertible. With two doors, "dramatically extroverted" style and all the controlled powerful grace of the GTC with a sporty suspension and twin-turbo squeezed in, the largely carried-over 2013 Supersports ISR high-performance Continental variant is most coveted by thrill enthusiasts with a penchant for refined control.
Only amateurs need to arrive late to arrive fashionably. The Supersports ISR needs no such fortune of vacancy, instead declaring its fiery presence with the ominous hum of a twin-turbocharged 6-liter W12 capable of an exceptionally smooth zip-to-60 sprint in 3.8 seconds. If onlookers could ignore the engine, surely they will instantly recognize the Continental Supersports ISR as the epitome of automotive athleticism in all its expertly designed drama.
A dainty spoiler inconspicuously keeps the ISR well-grounded at the trunk, while much additional venting in the hood and bumper send turbo power thumping through the engine for a total of 631 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque with any fuel. Unique soft tops offer a glossy black or flashy colored accent other than the optional red streaking down the side, over the vents, and throughout the 20" forged alloy wheels, with a smokey steel finish to focal-point surrounds regardless of options. Inside, red accents and badging alongside carbon fiber interiors further differentiate the ISR from any other GTC, but this is where the big differences end.
Being slightly lighter than your typical GTC, the Supersports ISR fetches 12 mpg city/19 highway—just 1 more city mile on that gallon of premium than the GTC. However, like every Continental with the W12, the ISR can use any fuel—to the detriment of economy, of course. The 6-speed ZF auto-manual carries through, as does its sporting rear bias to the all-wheel drive in a precisely choreographed dance designed for balance, control and exceptionally limited slip, though not as strictly as the Flying Spur.
New for 2013 are the same additions you will find in the 2013 GT: a few interior rearrangements, but most predominantly, a new navigation setup with an intuitive touchscreen infotainment system, at long last. Otherwise the 9.2 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk, lightweight carbon ceramic brakes, superior safety and vast connectivity—from Bluetooth to satellite radio—you cherished in the 2012 remain contentedly unchanged for 2013.
