Lexus debuted the IS F in January of 2007 at the North American International Auto Show, and released it as a 2008. The car ran through the 2014 model year. The IS was a cool enough car to being with, but dropping a 5.0-liter V-8 in it made all the difference. The engine delivered 416hp and 371-lb.ft. of torque, and redlined at 6,800 RPM. The engine has the same essential architecture as the one in the much larger LS 460, but goes well beyond it with a cast aluminum intake, new cylinder heads, titanium intake valves, and a forged crank, connecting rods and cam lobes. All of these cars had an automatic transmission, and drove the rear wheels.
