Used 2009 GMC Acadia for Sale near Hanover, PA
Although classified as a midsize crossover, in a class with the Buick Enclave, Honda Pilot, and Saturn Outlook, the 2009 GMC Acadia actually measures almost as long and wide as the full-size Yukon. Its class-leading passenger and cargo room and long list of standard features make it a standout for families needing lots of versatile space.
For 2009, the Acadia gets a direct-injection version of its 3.6-liter DOHC V8 engine, boosting horsepower to 288 and torque to 270 lb-ft. Paired with a 6-speed automatic, fuel economy ratings remain around 16/24 mpg, despite the addition of variable valve timing. The extra power is needed, but still feels inadequate to move this 4,700-pound truck. Other new features for 2009 include standard Bluetooth and satellite radio with real-time traffic for all trims. The SLT trims get more options, such as a rearview camera, heated and cooled front seats, and OnStar with Turn-by-Turn navigation.
Available in SLE, SLT-1, and SLT-2 trims, the 2009 Acadia comes in either front-wheel or intelligent all-wheel drive. The AWD system automatically redistributes torque between the front and rear wheels when it senses slippage. In conjunction with brake assist, ABS brakes and stability control, it helps provide a more stable and secure ride. Front-wheel-drive models get standard traction control. The Acadia's strong five-star safety record makes it appealing to families. Dual-stage front airbags, side impact bags with rollover sensors, and side curtain bags for all three rows are also standard. Thick pillars obscure both side and rear visibility, leading many to opt for the rearview camera.
The base SLE offers power windows, locks, and mirrors, cruise control, and CD player, but the Acadia gets downright luxurious as you move into the SLT trims. Power front seats, leather upholstery, and wheel-mounted and rear seat audio controls come with the SLT-1, while the SLT-2 adds xenon headlights and heated and cooled front seats. Only available for the SLT are a navigation system, DVD player, and new two-panel sunroof.
The 2009 Acadia seats up to eight passengers in three rows. Optional captain's chairs for the second row can replace the standard bench, reducing capacity to seven. Both rear rows fold flat, with the second row also sliding 3 inches to increase legroom and ease of access to the third row. With the seats up, the Acadia holds 20 cubic feet of cargo, but this expands to 117 cubic feet. Underfloor storage, storage consoles, and a roof rack provide additional space. The SLT trims feature a power liftgate. The roomy comfort is supplemented by convenient controls and alloy accents. A low step-in height also makes the Acadia family-friendly.
Though the biggest complaints focus on poor gas mileage and difficult maneuverability, the 2009 Acadia's interior comfort and space, combined with a surprisingly smooth and quiet ride and reliable safety ratings, keep it a strong competitor in its field.
4.2 Overall rating
(14 reviews)Loved the options that are available on the vehicle. The power is excellent for a SUV V6. Style of the Acadia is also nice. Over all comfort of the vehicle is very good especially on long road trips. Over all a very nice vehicle.
We kept the car about two years. Would be happier with better MPG out of the engine this size, but never lacked in power. The DVD and Navigation are nice to have and the Bose Speakers are phenomenal. Nice leathers.
We have had this vehicle only a week and I love it. It is easy to drive, roomy, and looks GREAT. There are only a couple things we don't like; adjusting the seats to tilt is difficult because we only have 2 way power seats, and there is a "rattle" on the dash when driving on gravel roads that I am going to have the dealer look at. Otherwise I have researched this vehicle for 2 years and I love it. (A lot of money...but I love it so far.) The real test will come this winter!!
this toy is highly automated. I recommend it for everyone that luvs gud things. The appearance of GMC Acadia is unlike every other GMC and every other made in yankee cars that come very big, It is sleek and makes the driver look sweet.
I love this SUV rides like a champ. Drinks gas though but worth it for the comfort and function
