Overview

The Saturn Outlook crossover SUV debuted in 2007, and receives only minor changes for its second year. A satellite radio has been added to the list of standard features, and an 115-volt power outlet and rear backup camera are now available as options. The Outlook was initially met with positive reviews, due in part to a very spacious interior for this class. The Saturn crossover offers 117 cubic of cargo space, while most competitors fall under 100.
There are four Outlook variations for 2008, through a combination of two drive trains and two trim levels. The base XE includes full power accessories, heated mirrors, cruise control, air-conditioning with controls for the rear, OnStar, and an audio system with MP3 compatibility and satellite radio. The upper level XR adds several luxury enhancements, including wood trim and a power seat for the driver. Both trims are available as either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The Outlook is powered by GM's 3.6 liter V6, which produces 270 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. The dual exhaust system on the upper level XR will add five horses/ The sole transmission option for the Outlook is a six speed automatic. Maximum towing capacity is estimated at 4500 pounds.
The Saturn Outlook has also also earned considerable praise for high marks in crash tests, as well as a comprehensive list of safety features. ABS, rollover-sensing stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side-curtain airbags and OnStar all come standard. The spaciousness of the Outlook is one of its strongest selling points, with a easily accessible third row seat which can accommodate most adults. In addition to attributes like 117 cubic feet of total cargo capacity, the Saturn SUV offers 17.5 cubic feet of luggage space with all the seats in place.
Reviewers have noted that while the interior is both stylish and somewhat user-friendly, some of the dash controls are difficult to manage on the go. The Outlook competes with other reasonably priced crossovers like the Mazda CX-9, Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot.

Highway worthy, in comfort, safety, affordability. Really GM did not need four divisions making CUVs. So Saturn was axed. But @ the 2008 NAIAS I was standing next to Bob Lutz when he compared the Enclave, Acadia, Outlook, and Traverse. His favorite was the Outlook, 'best combination of all em'. He was right! I bought it used trading in my Equinox, which I miss. But this XR has the same options plus its able to pull 4500lbs. one more sun roof and 2 more seats w/DVD. That Nox holds its value, so I got out of debt and hold the title.

It has a nice, smooth ride and it's interior is nice, not cheesey. It handles well around corners, and has 7-8 passenger seating. The exterior is very sharp looking. The gas mileage could be better. I haven't got the 32 mpg that the window sticker claims. Overall, I love it and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

The first time i saw the outlook i fell in love with it. Its stylish, had plenty of room with the 3rd row seating, and it has better than average MPG getting 20+ on the overall average city and highway.

Great car. Lots of room for passengers and a great interior. The engine is quite adequate. All in all a great car. We love it.
