The Jaguar S-Type, which has been in the lineup since 2000, will be replaced in 2009 by a new model, called the XF (originally scheduled for the '08 model year but pushed back to '09). As one the world's premier luxury cars, the S-Type Jaguar naturally comes equipped with an extensive list of standard features, including a one-touch power moonroof, a 16-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a 12-way power-adjustable passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, and Dynamic Stability Control. The S-Type 4.2 and S-Type R add such features as Bluetooth wireless connectivity and a DVD-based navigation system. Safety features for all models include the Adaptive Restraint Technology System, which uses ultrasonic sensors to continually monitor and calculate the position of the driver and passenger to determine which safety systems to activate in the event of an accident, as well as adjust airbag energy levels to match an emergency situation.
