The Mercury Milan is a 5-passenger sedan based on the Ford Fusion. As Mercury's entry-level sedan, it is aimed toward younger buyers with details such as the modern-looking large, curving head- and taillights. The Milan comes in six trims, two with a 160-horsepower 4-cylinder engine and four with a 221-horsepower V6. A 6-speed automatic is available on the V6 trims (Mercury was the first manufacturer to offer that feature in this class: mid-sized sedans priced under $30,000). Two of these trims feature all-wheel drive. Owners of the 2007 Milan praise it for its style, comfort, and value as well as its generous trunk space. Safety is under control thanks to traction control (on the V6 trims), crumple zones, side-curtain air bags, and protective door beams. Some of the available amenities include leather seats, heated front seats, automatic headlights, and satellite radio. For 2007 there are three new colors available, bringing the total of choices to ten. For the interior there are three cloth colors and three leather colors.
