Used 2025 BMW 2 Series for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2025 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 18.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,553 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe earns a 6.33/10 expert rating, and it is positioned as a relatively affordable entry into BMW ownership with standard all-wheel drive and a sporty driving character.

The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

That lines up with the overview: you get a more accessible path into the brand, plus added power and technology for 2025, along with useful cargo space. The trade-offs are clear, though: the styling is uninspired, the technology is unintuitive, and the ride quality is firm.

From the test-drive notes, the main compromises are the firm ride and the frustratingly complicated controls for some secondary functions. Even so, the car’s performance hardware and standard AWD make it appealing if you want a small luxury sedan that still feels eager.

With 39.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series reliable?

The overview and test-drive notes point to a car that is mechanically focused and broadly well sorted, with standard all-wheel drive, adaptive dampers, and a powertrain that feels smooth and predictable in everyday use.

The performance notes also suggest the drivetrain is easy to live with: gear changes are quick and smooth, the brakes are strong, and the car remains calm enough for long-distance driving. The tech and safety systems also behaved as expected in testing, without false alarms or glitches.

On the ownership side, the biggest long-term risk for used buyers is that the car’s more complicated technology and firm tuning may be less forgiving if prior maintenance or care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s equipment matches the listing, especially if you want the more advanced driver-assistance or tech packages. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing because the car’s controls, ride tuning, and optional equipment can materially affect how satisfied you’ll be.

Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake condition, and whether the cabin electronics and driver-assistance features operate cleanly and consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is described as closer to BMW’s current design language, with a large glossy panel for the digital cluster and infotainment screen, and the test vehicle added a sport steering wheel, M Division-inspired interior accents, and optional sport seats. The base setup is more restrained, so you should pay attention to whether the car has the equipment you want rather than assuming it includes the richer interior touches.
• Powertrain: The car uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard. The 228 xDrive is rated at 241 horsepower, while the M235 xDrive rises to 312 hp; the M235 also adds upgraded brakes and other performance-oriented hardware.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist, while the Technology package can add a surround-view camera system and head-up display.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. The system also supports over-the-air software updates, smartphone app control, and BMW Digital Key Plus.
• Fuel efficiency: The 228 xDrive is rated at 26 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined, while the M235 xDrive returns 24 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined.

Which 2025 BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 228 xDrive Gran Coupe and M235 xDrive Gran Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• 228 xDrive Gran Coupe: This is the better-value choice if you want the entry point into the lineup with standard all-wheel drive, strong fuel economy, and the core luxury and tech features already included. It gives you the most accessible way into the model without giving up the car’s main appeal.
• M235 xDrive Gran Coupe: This is the one to choose if you care most about performance. It adds more power, upgraded brakes, a rear spoiler, unique interior trim, sport seats, and a sport steering wheel, making it the more compelling pick for drivers who want the sharper setup.

The optional Driving Assistant Professional package is the safety add-on to look for if you want the fullest driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,553 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,245, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $36,245 sits slightly below last year's $44,408.

That price drop suggests the model has already moved down from its earlier level, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value may be more sensitive to mileage, condition, and equipment than to broad market momentum alone.

If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you should be better positioned than someone who pays near the top of the range. But if you overpay now, the softer market makes it harder to count on a quick recovery later.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series safe?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with standard advanced safety and driver assistance features like forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist. A surround-view camera system and head-up display are available through the Technology package.

Crash test results have not yet been published by either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.38% compared with last year.
• The redesigned model adds more power and technology while keeping the entry-level BMW formula intact.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with added power, standard AWD, and a more modern feature set, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into a BMW for less money, a nearby year may be the better value path, especially if you can find a cleaner example with the equipment you want.
