In its 16th year on the market, the Hyundai Elantra line has a new sibling, the 2007. With a 2.0-liter, 138hp 4 cylinder engine under the hood, the 2007 Hyundai Elantra is an excellent compact sedan. A 5 speed manual transmission comes standard in the Elantra, with a 4 speed automatic as an option. Gas mileage in this sedan is excellent, especially for a non-hybrid, at 28/36 miles per gallon.
The 2007 Hyundai Elantra is a simple sedan as far as comforts go. Air conditioning, cruise control, steering mounted controls, and CD player are the major comforts available. For the first time, the Elantra line does have the option of heated seats, though not on all of the trims. In today's market, the Elantra isn't overly burdened with comforts, but it certainly has enough for any normal person. And as far as safety goes, this front wheel drive has ABS and front and side airbags. Owners are very fond of the 2007 Hyundai Elantra. The biggest complaint I found was that it didn't have enough power, but it is a 4 cylinder after all. Several people also commented on the sparseness of the interior, especially compared to other year-models. However, there seemed to be enough comforts to keep the majority of people happy. The Hyundai Elantra seems to work well as a mid-line, smaller sedan for the single commuter.
