The 2006 Honda Ridgeline is Honda's entry into the pickup truck market. Will it work?

The Ridgeline is based on the platform of Honda's Pilot SUV, so it's got front wheel drive (which can convert to all wheel), limiting the towing capacity to about 5,000 pounds, a bit lighter than other trucks in this class. But, the truck's also been reinforced with steel and crossmembers. What sets it apart from other trucks though is the unibody construction, making the entire structure lighter and tighter than other competing trucks.

The 3.5-liter V6 engine booms out 247 hp and the thing - in third-party test drives - can go from 0 to 60 in about 8 seconds! And the multiple-link suspension makes the ride even relatively smooth and comfortable.

It's got a 122-inch wheelbase and 207-inch length, making it tough to park on city streets, but who needs a truck there anyway?

And. because the 8.5 cubic foot bed is resistant to dents and corrosion, there's no need to spend extra for a bed liner.

Drivers rave about its ride, quietness, rear-folding seats, and overall value.
