Used Mitsubishi Eclipse for Sale near Miami, FL
The 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse lineup loses the base level RS. A special edition Eclipse is available this year, which Mitsubishi has dubbed the REMIX. This package adds special interior trim, leather seating, chrome exhaust, 16-inch alloy wheels and a 210-watt Infinity audio system with a six-disc CD changer.
There are three trim levels for the 2005 Eclipse. The GS is now the entry-level model, priced below the GT and the top-shelf GTS. All Eclipses now come standard with full power accessories, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, cup holders, keyless entry, a CD player, a rear spoiler, and alloy wheels.
The GS is the only Eclipse to retain the the 2.4-liter inline four, which delivers 147 horsepower and 158 pound-feet of torque. The GT is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 that produces 200 horsepower and 205 pound-feet of torque. The GTS's V6 makes 210 horsepower. All styles come standard with a five-speed manual transmission, while a four-speed automatic is optional. Fuel economy estimates range from 20/29 for the V6 to 23/31 mpg for the four cylinder.
Consumers and reviewers have expressed disappointment with the lack of standard safety features across the Eclipse lineup. Only the GTS is eligible to receive items like ABS, traction control, and side airbags. The Eclipse did earn high scores in crash tests, however.
Many also commented that the interior could be livened up a bit and that Mitsubishi should reduce the amount of lower-quality materials. Rear quarters are extremely tight, but passengers in front will enjoy wide and well-padded seats.
4.8 Overall rating
(4 reviews)For the price you can have a sporty car. Handles extremely well, brakes tend to need replacing frequently, though that might be because of my own driving style. Never had any problems with things breaking. Built very well. Steering wheel kind of shakes when under heavy breaking.
Nice car. well built and solid, but a little too light.
This car is exactly what a true sports car should be- it's fast, comfortable, small, and has a smooth transmission that is always energizing to handle. The back seats are really only good for bags or luggage, not at all suited to transporting anyone. A family car it's not, but that's clearly not the point of a sports car to begin with. Garage kept by its first owner for almost 8 years, this car is in mint condition. Only real complaint with the appearance of the Eclipse is the spoiler, which is perfectly position to obscure about 20% of the view from the rear-view mirror.
I have no complaints.
