The Trailblazer's bigger brother, the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT adds 16 inches to the SUV's wheelbase (for a total of 129) and sits 2.6 inches taller. For 2004 it gets standard 17-inch aluminum wheels. Both second and third row fold, with the second row also flipping forward for rear access. Though they don't fold flat, with the rear seats down the cargo area expands from 23 to 107 cubic feet. Tow ratings hang around 6100-6300 pounds, depending on whether you have the heavier all-wheel drive system. According to most drivers, the aluminum I6 is surprisingly powerful, with great acceleration and hauling capabilities. Another big plus in the 2004 Trailblazer EXT is the interior space and the fact that it holds seven people. Handling is smooth and the style is sporty. Complaints mention a bland interior, the requisite poor fuel economy, and shallow cupholders. There also seems to be a problem with the A/C cutting off when idling.
