The 2003 Pontiac Montana minivan comes in a regulard 112-inch wheelbase and an extended 120-inch wheelbase. All feature front-wheel drive, but the extended also are available with Versatrak all-wheel drive capability, to help wanderlust parents forget they're driving a minivan.
Initially the Value trim only came with the shorter wheelbase, but in 2003, it is also offered in extended form. Though billed as Value, this trim still comes with many standard features, such as foglights, cruise control, power windows, locks, and mirrors, roof rack, remote entry, and a tachometer. It does not come with ABS, which is standard on all other 2003 Montana models. Dual sliding doors are standard across the line, and you can get a power option for both as well. Other nice options include heated seats, a rear parking assist sensor, and air compressor. While WonkaVision shrunk Mike TeeVee so small, his mom could hide him in her purse, MontanaVision (the 2003 Montana's DVD system) will shrink your kids' argument quotient and keep them hidden from you as they are ensconced with the one feature that all harried Montana parents seem to love. The dual sliding doors are also greatly appreciated. Other highlights include the easy handling, the roominess and cargo flexibility, the sporty SUV styling, and the overall affordability. Ongoing mechanical problems (transmission, intake manifold) and easily broken plastic parts are downsides of the 2003 Montana. Owners also wish for more horsepower, a third row seat that folds into the floor, and better acceleration.
