Used 2002 Volkswagen Beetle for Sale near Houston, TX
Volkswagen upped the ante in 2002 by offering the Beetle in a new trim package, the Turbo S. The fastest Beetle yet, it was powered by VW's 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, with a bump in horsepower from 150 to 180. A new six-speed manual transmission was also part of the package, as were such features as a front spoiler, a redesigned rear bumper, an Electronic Stabilization Program, and special 17-inch wheels.
The rest of the line received only minor upgrades, such as new colors (Riviera Blue, Pastel Green) and larger tires on 16-inch wheels.
The Beetle continued to draw the admiration and enthusiasm of drivers, with new bright colors only adding to the visual appeal of the vehicle. There were a few minor complaints - - about the limited storage space in the trunk and rear seat room, for instance - - but generally drivers were won over by the Beetle's nimbleness, sporty look, and "fun" factor.

Don't let the cute exterior fool you this is not your average cute beetle. This vehicle has speed and can get up and go along with the best sports cars.
In the fall of 2002 I decided to downsize from my Lincoln MkVIII. I was really looking for a Subaru WRX when I spotted my Reflex Silver New Beetle Sport on the lot. The Sport model features the 150 HP version of the 1.8T (Volkswagen/Audi) engine and is absolutely loaded with all the options (except auto trans) and has unique 17 inch wheels which feature body-color trim inserts. This car is very much what you could call a "sleeper" because on the road the only outward sign of performance potential is the automatic rear spoiler, which pops up at over 45 mph. A peak under the fuel cap will show two recommended tire pressure ranges, for sustained speeds of less than 100 mph and over 100 mph. I had considered trading up to the 170 hp Turbo model, or the more powerful Audi TT, but have found for $1,400 and about six hours of greasy fingers and busted knuckles I can upgrade the turbo and re-flash the ROM to end up with about 270 hp. I would also recommend putting on a set of Bridgestone RE 960 AS tires. They're awesome in all kinds of weather.
180hp with a twin turbo engine for a 1,800 kg car. This is the better power/weight ratio than most Porsches.
Great vehicle to bypass by the gas pumps! It is sporty, distinctive and German-engineered transportation full of personality. This machine offers great visibility to surrounding traffic! I've kept up on the maintenance and I am proud to call this Beetle TDI my own! I do not hesitate to travel cross country in this beauty!
Great car for long commutes on the highway, or just running errands around town. Uses Super unleaded gas only, but rewards you with a surprising amount of performance! Very comfy and plush leather seats. Chose this car over more expensive badges just because of it's sheer fun to drive without the high price!
