Now over 145,000 and still going strong. No major repairs other than the air conditioner blower. Still driving on the original drive belt and brakes and no sign of failure. The next planned service will be new struts. Everything you can ask for in a roomy comfortable car.

I had to purchase a reliable car that had plenty of seats with leg room and abundant trunk space. I found what I needed in the Sable GS. Affordability and a comfortable ride. Also, I found that we could fit our entire family in the Sable and save approximately 30% on gas alone over our SUV.

Good as a second car in the house. Runs good as long as you put 87 octane gas.

Taurus or Sable top models with the larger Duratec motors are awesome. I STILL drive every day a 1999 Ford Taurus with almost 300K and it STILL is a reliable no problems other than normal things car. Friends have Sables with same engine , the newest in their collection is a Sable 2001. Of course we are people who ALWAYS stuck true blue to the manufacturers maintenance and lived in the SE and garaged so no rust or faded paint either. If you can buy either makes from some senior in FL or AZ with low mileage, grab it. For under 4500. in most cases it will be a heck of a buy. Good first car for teens great crash stats.
