Overview
In its sophomore year on the luxury SUV market, the 2002 Acura MDX saw few changes. The base engine remained a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 240 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. The interior retained its plush leather feel, complete with what some consider to be excessive wood trim.
The width of the 2002 MDX remains quite wide, at 77 inches. When driving this SUV, be sure to keep a close eye on those around you...not much room for error when your car is over 6 feet wide.
The drive is quite smooth, and drivers love its combination of luxury and off-road capability. Some criticize the mileage estimates, reporting that it gets well under the advertised 17/23 city/highway. Of course, the problem is that the engine feels peppy enough to make you want to floor it at times, which burns a lot of gas. =)

Great car, comfortable. Off road capable. The more you drive it the more you love it! Still looks new when clean. Photo is after going up Pike's Peak in a blizzard with five people and no issues. Great all-around vehicle.

This is my favorite car that I've ever had. It's roomy, comfortable, drives smoothly and has heated seats.

liked the reliability and the cargo room and third row seating.it wasn't sluggish like some other suvs it can get it self going. don't like bad gas economy. but other than that it was a very god sweet little car for me and my family.

Its basically like driving a Swiss Army Knife...dependable, luxurious and practical but its gut some chutzpa and while the gas mileage is nothing to be proud of, it suits my combo sales-guy super-dad lifestile better than anything else I can t hink of and at its hart well...its a Honda.
