About 2001 Honda Insight
In 2001, the Honda Insight comes equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which in essence provides smoother gear shifting automatically, along with greater fuel economy. Certainly Honda deserves much credit for bringing their Insight to the public. Honda Insight is a hybrid (gasoline/electric) automobile. The lightweight aluminum body, with aerodynamic designing, is a 2-passengers vehicle. The only drawbacks apparent in the design are tight quarters in the cab, and driver control issues on windy roads and grooved surfaces. Perhaps in time these issues may be corrected without having to compromise on fuel efficiency. The 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine uses electrical backup to assist with acceleration. The battery of this electrical system is well designed so it is a regenerating source of energy. The biggest problem is with constant acceleration the battery will quickly drain. Though prices in used cars often vary, it is safe to say that a price range between $11,750 and $12,600 for a 2001 Insight is pretty accurate for a vehicle in good condition.
