The L is well equipped with power features, a rear wiper, foglights, and a roof rack. In 2000 it gets cruise control as well. The more high-end S comes with heated seats, keyless entry, alloy wheels, and a chrome grille. It gets a limited slip differential to improve AWD performance. A trailer hitch is optional on both Forester models. Though equipped with AWD, the 2000 Forester is not really an off-roader. The 2000 Forester does have some repair issues, most notably with wheel bearings. The other major complaint is the cramped rear passenger room and front legroom.
