Used 2000 Honda Prelude 2 Dr Type SH Coupe for Sale near Dallas, TX
4.7 Overall rating
(18 reviews)Great overall car. Its quick and the v-tec rocks. Holds up great as long as you keep up with normal maintenance. The inside is comfortable and is very user friendly. Honda parts are cheap if your into modding or if u mess something up. I get about 29 mpg with normal city and hwy driving but I can get 34 if I drive slow with the windows up. Fun to drive and lasts forever. Deff worth the money.
Love my car- overall performance is great. Built solid, over 100k miles and it still runs like new and looks like it is a new car. price of ownership isn't very high, typical regualr maintenance. Love taking it out on a curvy road or somewhere I can really open her up and let her CAMS sing
I bought this car in Aug of 06, and i absolutely love it. It was my affordable dream car back when i owned a saturn sl2 and still is. My prelude has been the best handling FWD car ive ever owned. Ive taken it on several backroads and raced it in autocross and even had it on a few tracks and it has only exhibited a minimal amount of understeer when i really push it. The car will stop on a dime, the brakes are great and really inspire confidence when in a difficult situation. I know the prelude was only given a 4 cyl. but the H22A4 accelerates just like a v6. I drove a 97 accord v6 not too long ago and it would out perform it easy. The build quality is solid, ive owned it for 2 years and havent had a problem with it. Its very easy to modify too, ive spent many summer afternoons outside tinkering w/ my car trying to squeeze out a little more performance. The car looks great, even when dirty. Sometimes i look outside and think "wow, i cant believe i own one of these". Even when im out in public, i will get comments on how the car looks. Every now and then someone will drive by and say "hey, nice car" or smile or even turn their head and follow the car. Gas mileage is subjective, based on how much of a lead foot you are but my gas mileage has been about 23-24 in the city and about 26-28 on the highway, although i did get 30mpg on a trip back home from college once. The car will use about a quart of oil between oil changes but again thats a subjective thing based on how much you hit vtec b/c vtec uses oil pressure to move the solenoid. As ive said, the car is a blast to drive. Inspires confidence in the corners, accelerates like a v6, stops great, looks great. Amazing car all around
Gas mileage is amazing(if you drive it correctly), handles awesome, has great pick up speed, reliable as hell, never had any problems with it, great shocks and delivers a smooth ride a 100% of the time.
Great car, very fun to drive with its high reving v tec dohc engine. However the high reving does lead to a higher fuel consumption. SH makes this a fun car to drive hard into the corners as the ATTS pulls you through where a normal FF would be understeering.
