I would recommend this car because it is just an overall solid reliable car.

This car is very fun to drive, 5spd H4 2.5L. It sounds amazing and actually has coupe performance unlike other GT's. If you're going to pick on up however; make sure the cylinder heads have been done. If not the don't buy it unless you're paying $2,000 or less becasue it's a $3,000 job and you WILL have to do it.
Overall very practical and very sporty, the best mix of two worlds.

I love this car. Quick fun and can take alot of beatings. At the same time perfect car for family use. lots of room and comfprtable. perfect car for the wife and her errands. Plus its a subie whats not to love

Performance: about 10 seconds from 0 to 100 km/hr, takes a bit of time to brake fully
Build Quality: never needed much repairs except when it got 8 years older
Appearance: Not bad for a 1998 though the rear would have been better designed, the interior is quite simple and chic
Cost of Ownership: very economic
Fun Factor: a surprising car

psh, The awd and low profile, make for one great winter driver. She's heavy, and rides extreamly well. Her sleek design gives her pretty good gas milage, but dangit, my betty keeps breaking down on me every year during the summer time!
