Used 1998 Mercury Sable GS Sedan FWD for Sale near Tappan, NY

Its a nice car, way more than enough power. Handles well in the corners and it is very easy to get it over 80 mph. The RPM's should be lower at highway speed, that is why it only gets 21.5 as a avg mpg. Would buy again, it has been a dependable car.

El cheapo at $550. DOHC engine is super smooth, ditto for the ride, a real pleasure to drive.

I liked this car, was comfortable, had power everything. Engine was ok, ran strong enough, tranny on these cars SUCKS. I had a roommate who had a Taurus about the same year and both our Trannys went out the same week. Checking with the junk yard they didn't have a single good tranny, all the ones they had were there BECAUSE of the tranny. Could even sell it to a junk yard, they said they all had 15 of these cars that ran but be tranny was out. Ford auto trannys for ya.
